Thank you for returning to Central CT. How do I RSVP to events at St. Christopher's in East Hartford. I miss the meetings we used to have at ST. Paul's in Glastonbury.
Hello to you glrolland and all others interested in our upcoming monthly meetings starting in January 2008. There is no rsvp required. We look forward to meeting you.
January 15, 2008, 7:00 pm
Contemplation and Conversation, St. Christopher Church Hall
Beginning January 15, we will begin a new monthly gathering of prayer, reflection and conversation with fellow Credo members. Our hope is to listen, learn and share in order to
deepen our faith and experience of God. Subsequent meetings will be held on February 19, March 18 and April 15. Andrea M. who has an MA in Spirituality and is completing train in Spiritual Direction at the Mercy Center in Madison will lead the program.
Considering joining. What is the average age of participants?
As we approach 2008,
I believe friendship has no age.
We are passing along these facts about Catholic Credo Singles in the hopes that you may feel welcomed to join us.
What is Credo? A community of single, widowed and divorced Catholics from throughout the Archdiocese of Hartford.
What ages are included? Mostly people from around 30 to 70.
What does the group do? Offers activities involving stewardship, community service, socializing.
Are there dues? No, there are the out of pocket expenses for the activities people want to do.
Are there weekly/monthly meetings? There are two basic meetings a year to decide on activities for the next six months. Then you participate in as many activities as you like, based on your availability and interests.
What do you mean by activities? Attending mass, eating out, miniature golf, dances, helping at charity events, picnics, attending baseball games, outings to tourist locations, etc.
Why should I join? Because maybe your friends at work or your family don’t always include “singles” or maybe you just want to meet new people and enjoy life.
How do I join? Just come to any event.
Where can I find out more? Check out the website www.credocath.com or drop a line to CREDO P.O. Box 1236 Glastonbury CT 06033
Happy New Year 2008!
Thanks for the clarification and information. What's available in the New Haven county area? It appears many of the meetings/activities take place in the Hartford area.
Hello I'm new to the area in Hamden a single 38 year old woman and I was told about CREDO through a friend. This is all new to me for I've not done many things alone for most of my friends are married and I feel a bit out of place meeting new people. I was wondering do I just show up to events or must I rsvp before hand? If so how many days in advance should I do that?
Dear Gray and others interested in Credo. Our next event in your area is April 19th: dinner and movie night in Meriden. Joe D. is your host he will greet you at 5:00 at the American Steak House. No rsvp is needed for this event. We look forward to meeting you.
Are there any singles prayer groups that you know of? That aren't during the weekday when many of us work? Credo sounds great, but I think I would be very shy going to events or on trips with people that I haven't ever met, and I might feel like I am "crashing" the event if there is no sign up ahead of time. I don't want to be rude, but maybe my feelings are similar to others? Maybe this knowledge might help your group?? I have been praying for fellowship... and unfortunately have found it more in churches other than Catholic--but I want to be in a Catholic church.
Hi!
I've never beem to a Credo event but I was planning to go on sunday to Wickam Park. The weather that day is rain. Is the picnic still going to happen and if it isn't please tell me when the rain date is going to be. My e:mail address is Isolde_8086@yahoo.com. Please let me know ASAP because I have to make plans to fix the side dish. and I don't want to do it unless you are having the picnic. Thanks.

So VERY happy to see the new monthly meetings! :-)
Um, I have a really dumb question...is St. Christopher Church also in Madison? I know the site says the director is from a place in Madison, but aside from directions to the church, I can't find the actual town listed anywhere...so I figure knowing that for sure would help me follow the given directions. Thanks!
We look forward to the Fall series
for Contemplation and Conversation.
The location is St. Christopher Church in East Hartford. We will meet in the Parish Center Chapel. Andrea has studied in Madison, but the event is in East Hartford. September 30th at 7:00 P.M. see you then.
Hello. I would like to tell all divorced and widowed people about a healing weekend coming up called Beginning Experience. It will be April 17 - 19, 2009 at Wisdom House in Litchfield. My name is Yvonne, I am divorced, and I attended a Beginning Experience weekend in New York 5 years ago that changed my life! I no longer feel 'stigmatized' or 'different' or in pain! I no longer define my life as 'pre' and 'post' divorce. My life is my life. This weekend helped me get my life back! I'm not just living out 'the rest of my life.' I'm living! For more information, see the website at beginningexperience.org or e-mail me. This program has been endorsed by the Office of Family Life. My e-mail address is yrousseau@sbcglobal.net
I saw a notice in our church bulletin about your upcoming singles event at Dino's and then Tiki indoor miniature golf. I went to Dino's and didn't see anyone there. I waited until 5:30 and then headed over to the Tiki golf. When I got there I discovered the Tiki golf had gone out of business! I was very disappointed, and wish someone had checked to make sure this place was still open.
Dear Kathleen,
It was unfortunate that your first experience with Credo proved to be hard to identify the group. Our newsletter events are submitted at least three months prior to the event due to editing and publishing. The Tiki golf at that time was open. No notice was given to our host Joe D. Our Credo group is run by volunteers from among the members. If you have questions the P.O. Box 1236 can be accessed in Glastonbury. The full address is on our homepage. We hope you will try us again. The next event is in West Hartford Good Friday evening. We are meeting in the back of the church and I will have blue and white ballons. Hope to see you and others interested in join. Thank you Rose.
I hope to get out and meet some new folks. All my family is in Europe and I'm the only one here.
Thanks
Teresa
I never been at credo, but i would like to attend.

Hello, I went on the Wallingford walk a while ago and enjoyed it. I'm interested in meeting up w/you guys for the Litchfield Aug. 8th mass and perhaps some other future events. How do I know where to find you? Thank you in advance!
Hello,
Has your group considered linking to Facebook? You might gain more members through it, and it might facilitate communication to help your group thrive! I know Facebook isn't always the best thing, but it's an idea!
Responding to Anonymous re:facebook :
Hi, I'm not a member of facebook. I think your idea is worth discussing.
Our planning meeting is held next in January 2011. You can attend and bring your idea to the group. Also you can send it into the Credo P.O. Box 1236 in Glastonbury, CT. We can present it to Father Curran our advisor.
Thank you for giving examples of how to each others. Rose.

Hi! Look forward to seeing you at the Mass 11:30 on Sunday 8/8/10. I will be the hostess and will have blue and white balloons. I will be to the left of the alter in the back section of the seating area. I hope to see you there. Remember to bring something to share as we will meet for lunch at the picnic area after the Mass. See you Sunday. Rose.
